2025 recipient of the Mark Gearhart Memorial Graduate Student Award

We are pleased to announce that Lucas Horton has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Mark Gearhart Memorial Graduate Student Award.  Lucas was selected from an excellent pool of applicants for this annual award, which recognizes a graduate student who is completing, or has just completed, advanced academic or professional training in veterinary epidemiology, public health, or preventive medicine.

Lucas will present his paper, “Stochastic modelling of economic risk and net return distributions for feedlot steers marketed at alternative endpoints,” immediately following the Schwabe Symposium at the 2025 Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases (CRWAD) annual meeting in Chicago at 5:45 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025.
